Which skilled trade is right for you? I can only speak from my experience in the HVAC Training Industry, so I guess you have to take my advice with a grain of salt. There are certainly a lot of great ways to earn a living with your hands. Whether you are talking Auto Mechanic, Plumber, Electrician, Carpenter or Air Conditioning Service Technician, your skills can earn you a nice living for your entire working life.
In the HVAC-R Industry (Air Conditioning, Heating, Ventilation and Refrigeration) you can choose from a multitude of rewarding career paths. After proper training from a certified training facility you can become a service technician and repair air conditioning and heating equipment fir residential or commercial customers. Specializing in refrigeration, such as ice machines or supermarket coolers and freezers, can yield more pay and job security. Even if you are not mechanically inclined, there are plenty of jobs available in sales, management or customer service.
